Energy Security, Decarbonization, and the Environmental Justice Movement

This article will analyse two key challenges of today: 1) energy security and decarbonization in the context United Nations’ sustainable development goals, 2) from perspective environmental justice. Energy are integral components Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, they addressed SDG 7, which aims to ensure universal access clean affordable energy. Access is crucial for vital sectors such as agriculture, business, communications, education, healthcare, transportation, a lack can impede human economic development. In addition, effects climate change disproportionately borne by those residing developing world. inequity needs be at core any research – both practical theoretical level. However, some scholars have argued that dominant modes thinking about hazards often chosen ignore this or not placed their analysis. where Environmental Justice movement acts game-changer. We argue it provides an alternative rationality approach hazards, with social injustices inequities its center direct indirect degradation change.
